Hello loves! This month marks my one year anniversary living in Arizona. Woohoo! I can’t believe I stayed out here this long. I flew out here with my son, 2 suitcases, a duffel bag and 200 dollars in my pocket. To think I’ve come along this far should be enough motivation to help me move onto the next goal.
In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Practice Makes Perfect?.”
Whoever said those words had there own specific goals. But who’s to say what perfect really is? My point is that my perfect idea of a body is not the same as the next persons.
To achieve your idea of perfection definitely takes an understanding of program design. Something that I’m still in the process of learning. Someone once told me “Everyone’s a guinea pig for the first three months”. He meant you have to learn what works for different people, their goal, body shape and a million other factors.
Well, the goal is too practice program design until Im up to par. Shouldn’t take long, hopefully…. Wanna be my guinea pig? Just kidding!

I won’t say that you’ll get a flat belly. I will say that you will have a toned belly. You’ll have so much muscle underneath that over layer of fat, that the lines will still appear. (Speaking from personal experience).

I’ll say it. I’m broke. I’m another one of those 20 something year olds, trying to find there way in life, while just making the rent and surviving on the healthier version of ramen noodles. So that means I can’t afford the gym, or obstacle races, 5ks, or anything else in life.
Well this month I’m sacrificing, because I am running in a 5k this year. They usually have sales during holidays or early bird specials. Yay! I can save a few bucks or $50. The point is get out and splurge on something other than doughnuts or the adorable dress at Bebe’s. (Am I really the only who shops there?)
Below, I’ve included some pretty cool obstacle course races and 5k’s that are going on this year. They travel cross country, so look them up for one near you.
This past week, during 100 degree weather, I had a horrible cold! Being from New York, I only thought that you can catch a cold during the fall and winter. So in this article, I’ve included my top 5 herbal remedies. According to the bottle, these are not FDA approved.
It is a plant from the buttercup family.
It has many properties including antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory. I swear by this herb. Make a cup of goldenseal tea with Tbsp of lemon and honey and give that cold a pretty sweet superman punch! Yes, I’m obsessed with kickboxing right now.
So this herb seems to be used for just about everything! Cancer, diabetes, upset stomach, constipation, baldness, adding flavor to meals, feeding cattle. It has a sweet taste that I personally can’t stand! But mom said take it and it worked. I’d also make a tea out of this one with a little bit of maple syrup.
The herb comes from the daisy family. Fun fact: According to Wikipedia, Native Americans learned about the plant after observing elk seeking out the plant when sick or wounded. Anyways, the herb has been known for treating the common cold. I get the capsules mainly, but you can make tea!
This one is my favorite! Its just so yummy! It is said to have anti-anxiety properties. Most people associate it with being a sleep aid and I agree. It also has several other properties including anti-inflammatory. It can be used for insomnia, hay fever,menstrual disorders, muscle spasms, among several others. I love this one with honey. I also buy the chamomile and lavender tea.
Lastly! None other than my best friend ginger! It is known for its aid in digestion, stomach pain, and apparently nausea. There are so many ways to use ginger. You can cook with it and make tea out if it. Anyone care for some pickled ginger? No thanks. Ginger ale is another good one but try to get one with real ginger!
These are all great remedies that I keep in my kitchen. Please do your research. Too much of anything is a bad thing! I hope you enjoyed this article!
